Michelle Hart-Miller Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist at Londonderry High School will be holding her annual Lancer Power Camp this summer. The camp is open to all athletes 8th grade and up interested in improving Strength, Speed, Agility, Quickness, and Power. This program is designed to specifically improve athleticism and reduce injuries. Three programs are available. For more information please visit Lancerpower.com.
I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Michelle and her staff for everything that they do for the baseball program. Without their dedication and efforts we would not have the success that we have year after year. I have been told numerous times from former athletes how they are ahead of other in-coming athletes in college because they already know how to do the exercises used at the next level. Michelle understands being an athlete is more than how much you can bench press, I believe the sooner you expose your athlete to her philosophies the sooner you set them up for future successes.
The summer camp dates are set! The full camp will be June 29th, 30th, and July 1st and 2nd. We will be getting flyers out in the coming months and are pleased to add long-time coach John Vaughn to help out with the camps. He is excellent with kids and has many years experience running the Lancer softball camp! These camps are a great way to have your child (boy or girl) get solid baseball instruction while having fun doing it! For 4-5 hours a day the camp reinforces the basic fundamentals taught by their regular teams!
The second camp, Lancer Baseball Pitching and catching camp, will be tentatively set for July 7th and 8th with a possible third day depending on interest.
The Lancer underclassmen lost in the 7th inning, allowing the winning run on with an "E2" and then Ben Flanders gave up 2 singles, allowing the walk off run to cross the plate in the Lancers season opener.
The offense was provided by hits from Sam Daouk, Josh Stevens, Zach O’brien and Tom Chindamo.
In our home opener the Lancers just could not generate any offense. J.R Winn pitched 6 shutout innings only allowing 2 hits and 4 walks. Adam Alix took the loss giving up 3 runs in the 7th.
We will take on the Astros Saturday at home 10:00am start.
